The final movie to the fantastic Harry Potter movies has been released, but is it truly over? To me Harry Potter will never be over. This is something that will live in my heart forever (almost like a horcrux), a story that I will read to my children on day. In fact, I am secretly hoping that J.K. Rowling will write another book. (I've heard rumors, I'll keep you updated!) She said on Oprah "I could defiantly write an eighth or ninth book." *HOPE* The Harry Potter fever isn't going to die down anytime soon. All of the Harry Potter books have been on the list of best sellers for at least 15 years.
So aside from that, what did I think of the 8th film? I went to the premiere with my friend, and we cried absolutely the whole time. It was a sad day for us. The movie was great, almost perfect. But I am a picky person, and I had a couple of issues. First, Harry and Voldemort battle was MUCH longer that it had to be. Hello, Harry NEVER ran from Voldemort. They could have used all of that extra time to focus more on Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Colin Creevey, and many of the other traumatic deaths that occurred. The Snape pensive scene was absolutely PERFECT! But again, I am picky, and I didn't really like the actors who played young Lily and James. They just didn't fit the description well enough. But that’s just my opinion. Next, I loved how they did Neville. Again there was an issue, he did not love Luna! Now personally I was a tad disappointed when they didn't end up together, but whatever Rowling says, well she obviously had a reason. My last complaint (because I could list nitpicky things forever) is the end, with the elder wand. Well, Harry don't you think it would have been helpful if you had fixed your broken wand before you broke the one wand that could? He is supposed to put it back in Dumbledore's grave to protect its power. Well, everything else was just wonderful though! It was a great ending to a great series! Hope that cleared up some confussions.
I love Harry Potter so much and I also hope that J.K Rowling writes another book or they make another movie but I really like the way they ended the last one! You are so lucky you got to go to the premiere! I wanted to so bad but I was at camp!
ReplyDeleteIT CAN NOT BE OVER! Hahaha i bet they will do another ending to it or another book at least. They have made too much money off the Harry Potter title to stop now! I just wish the movie's director had made a bigger point on Harry and Ginny's kiss during the big fight scene. Ginny just ran away after and seemed to feel no emotion that her true love may die at any moment. Hahaha just thought to add that because I am a hopeless romantic <3
ReplyDeleteOver. It's never over!! I love Harry Potter!! You blog is SHAMAZINGGGGG!! I can't believe its over ): Its not ok!! hahahahah I love Love LOOOVE your blog!! Maybe just maybe J.K. Rowling can write another book!! Hopefully. If we are lucky, she will!! (: hahaha <3 you!!
ReplyDeleteI know Kyra!! I'm totally with you on that. . .in case you didn't notice hahaha.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jesilyn, I never noticed that!! thanks! Learn something new everyday! I will pay more attention to that scene!
Thanks Colleen!! I love talking to Harry Potter fans who agree with me hehehe! I'm waiting desperately for her to write another one! <3 all of you!!
ReplyDeleteI am JUST like you on all the little things they got wrong! Like, in the epilogue, they didn't have Ron telling his daughter to be Malfoy's kid at everything. I kinda don't want her to write another one though cause she finished the series so well. And she can't really top Voldemort, unless he had another secret horcrux, at which point she'd just be dragging it out. Love your blog though, and can't wait for more posts!
ReplyDeleteOh My Rowling (see what I did there) I forgot about that!! And siriusly (hehehe) one of my biggest issues was Lily and Harry's eyes not being GREEN!!!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks more are coming!
I never knew too much about Harry Potter but now I do. I can see that you’re a very big fan of the series and I can understand your love for it. It's a great series and your blog has really caught my attention. Your blog is professional while also providing a feel of a true fan blog. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Harry Potter a lot since I was little. The last one blew me away; it was definitely not a kid’s movie. It’s sad to see it end; it’s kind of marking the end of my childhood since the first came out when I was like 5 or 6.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
